Sully – 6-7 month Australian Shepherd / Shetland Sheepdog Mix
Sully will not be adopted out of the State of New Mexico.
Meet Sully – champion hugger of the century! Despite being abandoned in a rental house and thrown into a shelter and scheduled to be euthanized - this little guy has a great outlook on life and finds the good in everything! He is safe now and has blossomed into one gentle, fun-loving soul who is looking for his forever home.
Sully is about 6-7 months old and is an Australian Shepherd / Sheltie mix with gorgeous amber eyes. He currently weights about 25 lbs and we don’t think he will be more then 35-40 lbs when fully grown – more on the mini-aussie side - small in structure but huge in heart! If you bend down to his level, Sully will softy place his paws on your shoulders and give a wonderful hug – usually tucking his head against your neck and snuffling softly. Sigh . . . he is a heart-winner for sure!
We had to shave his unique red merle coat because the mats in his coat were horrible but his silky coat is now growing back and he will be a mid to long coated guy (who likes to be brushed).

Sully loves his toys, playing with his foster family dogs and learning new tricks. If he can’t find someone to play with him – he will play his own games with his toys or just run gleefully through the house and yard. He is a higher energy boy and is super smart but can be a little aloof when he first meets people - but warms up quickly. He loves his walks and is doing great on the leash – he loves to be by your side and is always looking forward to new adventures. He is growing into those big beautiful ears and they are starting to turn down at the tips. He also has a funny grin that will brighten any day! His foster thinks he is quite extraordinary! If you are an active family with working dog experience and at least one other dog in the family and consider your dogs a part of the family – we encourage you to meet Sully – but prepare to fall in love! Sully loves kids but cats are unknown.
Sully is house-trained, crate-trained, neutered, UTD on shots, heartworm tested and on preventative, micro chipped and ready for a forever home!

Barkley - ADOPTION PENDING
All Barkley wants is a family to call his own and someone to love him! This adorable 4-5 month old lab / spaniel cross (our best guess) has the most irresistible amber eyes and a coat as soft as silk. His smile lights up a room and it is hard not to smile with him – he is quite wonderful! He is amazingly sweet and just wants to be by your side and get lots of belly rubs if he can. This exceptional boy is an alert bundle of fun just waiting to learn new things. He has lots of puppy energy but his overall personality is laid back, very charming and calmer then most puppies. He is happiest at his people's feet. He has completely charmed the cats at the clinic (not to mention the entire staff) and loves spending time with them as well as all the dogs he gets to meet and play with. He will rest his head gently on your lap and look deeply into your eyes . . . he seems to be searching . . . Am I the one for you?
You’ve noticed the cast on his leg (hard to get a good picture – he is such a wiggle worm!) - we don’t know what happened to Barkley - only that his front right leg was broken in three places and he was left to fend for himself on the streets of Abq. Thank goodness for Good Shepherd Animal Clinic who has taken him under their wings! They came to his rescue and though he will need his cast replaced every two weeks (because he is a growing boy) until the breaks are healed – the outlook for a complete recovery is very bright – as bright as the light in his eyes. He doesn’t seem to mind it al all – we think he imagines himself as a pirate! The breaks are in locations that are fusing nicely and Good Shepherd is donating all his medical costs for his leg during recovery.
Patience and determination is required of his new family for the next couple weeks – but we have no doubt you will be repaid ten-fold! This guy has a fabulous attitude for what he has been through and he is ready to fall in love with a family. Active couples, families with kids, cats, other dogs – Barkley is one that will fit in anywhere – are you ready for a charmer in your home?
Barkley is house-trained, crate-trained, UTD on shots, micro-chipped, neutered, heartworm tested and on preventive, and ready for his forever home. He will need to be taken (probably bi-weekly) to Good Shepherd for cast updates until completely healed at no cost to his new family.

Navarre is a male Australian Heeler mix about 7 months old and about 30lbs. Navarre is sweet, gentle, quiet and looking for your lap or the crook of your arm to snuggle in. He is just a love-sponge and desiring to be your shadow and adorer. He has genteel approaches to all and a genuine softness about him. Navarre would love a home with people who would let him pretend he is a lap dog. This affection-seeking boy will make a wonderful house pet and life-long buddy. His energy level is not high but adequate daily exercise is advised. Navarre is great with other dogs. Check out his dog pal, Sundance. The two of them adopted together would make just an awesome pair! CONTACT: Robert @ 505-870-1203 or e-mail cathy@enchantmutts.org. |

Bear is a youngster at three and has good but controlled energy. He is a Lab-Pointer mix; at
least that's where we're thinking his really cute freckled "socks" come from! He's not fancy
and doesn't expect or ask for much except love. He is a “homebody” and truly enjoys being in
the house as part of a family—playing with the kids or just being by his family. He loves to be
petted, anywhere and anytime. Throw him a ball and he may fetch. Most likely he’ll just run
back to be near you, roll on his back and act silly. Bear knows sit, down, and is house and
crate-trained and smiles non-stop. If you are the traveling type, great... he is panting-ready
for the tailgate to flip down so he can jump in! If you have cats, you do not want Bear (and
the cats don't want him, either).
He is a walking fool on the open space trails and enjoys it all. Those ‘bear’ ears? Well, we're
guessing someone cut his floppy ones as a pup to make him look like a tough guy. Visualize
them flying in the breeze when he runs up to say I love you anyway. Are your ready for a
true blue friend who will love you unconditionally? He’s ready for you! For a first hand look

Missy
Missy is an 11-month old, American Staffordshire Terrier mix with a glossy brindle coat. Her elegance and beauty are the first things that will catch your eye but it's her sweet, affectionate nature that will rope you in. Missy just "giggles" and "wiggles" when she sees kids and would like some of her very own! She is house-trained, uses a dog door, knows sit and off and is close to mastering lie-down and stay commands. For her young age, she is remarkable inside the home, loves to be with her family and to be on your bed or couch with you if she receives an offer to do so. She enjoys long walks, runs and frolicking in the snow! Her fav toys are a squeaky fleece bone & rawhide chewies. Inside the home Missy is careful around newcomers until she feels comfortable but does not take long to make a a new friend especially if treats are involved!! Initially, Missy had a tendency to be dog selective – fear based, part of her shadowy past but as she has gotten more comfortable and knows she is safe, she is learning to like other dogs (and the fun they can bring!!) She has even found a boyfriend in a calm, older male. She just bats those big brown eyes, he just melts and we have a cuddle fest on our hands! We suspect she would enjoy romping with another playful, mellow dog as she has in her past. Missy would do well as an only dog in an active household but also with other playmate(s) if introductions are made correctly and she lives with a dog savvy family. She would love a large, secure yard or acreage to explore. She will bond deeply with her new family – human and animal and make an exceptional addition to the right forever home!
Missy seems to have very specifically chosen her current foster family. In uncovering her past, they discovered the distance and depth this young dog has come to search for her true and forever home. Ask her foster mom for details!!
