Sara

Mama lived on the streets of Wagon Mound for a long time, having litter after litter of pups. When we found her, she had just had another litter, and had hidden them under an abandoned house; but someone found them and took her new babies away. When she first came to us, her bright blue eyes were full of fear, but after only a few days, she began to wag her whole body and force herself to come closer. Now she is right up there, looking for hugs and kisses.

PAPA (Chow Chow / Cattle Dog mix)
Papa lived on the streets with his dog family for a long time, but he remembers someone loved him once. After he realized we were not going to hurt him, he was happy to come with us. It took some time for his wounds to heal and for the hair to grow back on his head, where it looked like someone had poured battery acid. Papa is a little arthritic, and partially blind in one eye, but he sees well enough to recognize and come to us eagerly, where he will push his forehead into whichever of us will squat down and give him a hug. He was obviously housetrained once. Papa gets along well with female dogs, but would be grateful to be an only dog in a home where he can get the love and attention he deserves.
